Engagement Couple Photo Information

I absolutely recommend that every couple that is engaged should have an engagement couple session together. Let’s face it… most people won’t have had a professional photo shoot before. And the idea of a professional photographer taking your photo can be an uncomfortable thought and for some people, the idea can fill them with total anxiety. Especially if you think you always look awkward in photos.

You are not alone. Most of my couples have never had a professional shoot before and most are a little nervous. I see it as my job to make sure you have a really fun and amazing experience at your engagement shoot. Because that is how to get natural, fun and creative images of the two of you. Not stiff poses or awkward expressions. Just beautiful and natural images that will spark joy.

Here are some reasons why engagement photography is an awesome idea:

What should we wear for the session?

Your outfits should reflect your personality and make you feel confident and comfortable. Neutral tones, soft textures, and minimal patterns tend to photograph beautifully, but most importantly, wear something that feels you. I can also provide styling tips to help you coordinate your look.

Can we choose the location?

Absolutely! This is your story, and the location should hold meaning for you. Whether it’s a favourite spot, somewhere sentimental, or a setting that reflects your style, we’ll work together to find the perfect place to capture your love. I can also give you a few options to help you decide.

When should we do the shoot?

The timing of your engagement session can make all the difference. Ideally, plan your shoot a few months before your wedding to give you plenty of time to use the photos for save-the-dates or other pre-wedding needs. It is also a good idea to time your hair & makeup trial with your shoot.

What time should we do the shoot?

The best time for your engagement session is towards sunset, during “golden hour,”. The soft, warm light during these times creates a beautiful, flattering glow. So I would recommend that you start your session 90mins before sunset so that you are in the best light possible.

How long until we get the engagement photos?

I know you’ll be excited to see your images, so I work hard to deliver them as quickly as possible! Typically, you can expect your fully edited gallery of your session within 2 weeks. But we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

Stunning photos!

I just wanted to send you and Adam the biggest thank you for the stunning photos. We’re both so thrilled with them, I’m still trying to decide which is my favourite because they’re all so beautiful! He was such a pleasure to deal with on the day and you’ve been so incredible to communicate with. We really have to thank you for being so accommodating when we had to postpone. 

Having someone with knowledge about the area is so great, especially when we had to make the call on the wet weather option. He filled us all with such confidence and honestly a lot of the time I just didn’t realise he was there as he wasn’t pushy or staging heaps of unnatural photos (which was so good in the ceremony). 

I know my sister is really looking forward to having him there at her wedding in March, I am too.

Beyond Amazing!
