Yvonne & Alex Brisbane Maternity Photography

Some sessions feel extra special before you even pick up the camera, and this was one of them.

We first met Yvonne and Alex years ago when we photographed their wedding, so catching up again in Brisbane for their maternity photography session felt less like work and more like reconnecting with old friends, with a very exciting new chapter unfolding.

They had recently moved to Brisbane, and we met up along the coastline for their maternity photos on a quiet evening at low tide. The mud flats had opened right up, creating wide open space, soft textures and a calm, stripped back backdrop that felt peaceful and completely unforced.

This is the kind of setting we love for natural maternity photography in Brisbane. Open horizons, gentle light and room to slow down. No stiff posing and no pressure to perform. Just walking, talking and letting moments happen as they unfolded.

Because we had already photographed their wedding, there was no awkward warm up. They knew how we work and we knew how they connect. That familiarity meant we could keep the session relaxed and intuitive, focusing on real interaction rather than direction. A hand resting on a bump. Quiet smiles. A pause to take it all in.

Alex carried a steady, quietly proud presence throughout the session, while Yvonne absolutely glowed. Not in a look at the camera way, but in a calm, confident, deeply content way that comes from feeling settled in this season of life.

These are the maternity sessions we love most. Photos that are not about perfection or posing, but about remembering how this moment felt.

If you are planning a relaxed outdoor maternity session in Brisbane, low tide coastal locations can be a beautiful option for natural maternity photography with space, soft light and a sense of calm.

Yvonne and Alex, thank you for trusting us again in a new city and a whole new chapter. We are so grateful to keep being part of your story 🤍
